SUCCESS KEY #14 - BRING DOWN THAT IDOL

The case against idol worship is a serious matter because the society has been skewed into believing that idol worship is nothing as long as it has been accepted by a people as their system of worship or conscripted into a religious formula. The essence of this article is to ascertain if those that seek after God the Almighty creator of heaven and earth are directly or indirectly involved in idol worship which will make it difficult for such to access the help of the one true God.

 

1. Isaiah 51:1-2 says: “Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness and who seek the Lord: Look to the rock from which you were cut and to the quarry from which you were hewn; look to Abraham, your father, and to Sarah, who gave you birth. When I called him he was only one man, and I blessed him and made him many.”

 

2. Abraham our father in faith was once a victim of idol worship who at the age of 75yrs old had not much to show for his life despite the great destiny that God created him for. Abraham’s deliverance started the day he left his father’s house and followed God to the land that God prepared for him. This does not mean that the idols left Abraham when he left his father’s house, they followed him still with the aim to make sure the purpose of God for his life does not come to pass.

 

3. Judges 6:25-26 says: "That same night the Lord said to him, “Take the second bull from your father’s herd, the one seven years old. Tear down your father’s altar to Baal and cut down the Asherah pole beside it. Then build a proper kind of altar to the Lord your God on the top of this height. Using the wood of the Asherah pole that you cut down, offer the second bull as a burnt offering.”

 

4. The case of Gideon’s household was another example, a family of mighty men becoming next to nothing because of the effect and influence of the family worship of idols. His deliverance began when he destroyed the idol altar to Baal and built a proper altar to God Almighty in place of the idol altar. What you might be seeing in your family may not have started yesterday, idols can see into the future of families and start attacking that future so that it does not come to pass even to a tenth generation.

 

5. Any family that is into idol worship is a family that was destined by God to be great, the devil overran their greatness by attaching himself to them and stealing their future so that they can never experience the plan and purpose of God for their lives. It is only when such families realize the havoc the devil is wrecking on them and expel such idols, that is when the members of such family can begin to experience the light of the life in God.

 

6. Exodus: 20:3-5: “thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: For I the lord thy god am a jealous god, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me.”

7. Idol worship means the worship, praise, honor, bow, respect of any other god, image, power, help, persons, image in your heart, graven image at home or in the religious ground. Idolatry is one of the causes of the problems experienced world over. Worshiping idols leads individuals, families and communities into bondage. There is nothing like an approved ‘religious idol’ (graven images). No form of graven image was approved by God to be included in Religious worship. They are all sinful and abomination before God. Idol worship in a religious setting is a form of false religion.

8. Idol worship includes all occult involvement, marine and witchcraft powers, spells, magic, hexes, jinxes, visiting witch or native doctors. Relying on these dark powers rather than the power of God Almighty to help, save and deliver. Psalm 106:36-37 says: "They worshiped their idols, which became a snare to them. They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to false gods (demons)."

9. Idol worship in the family (foundation) leads to untold hardship, poverty, sickness, shame, reproach, insanity, untimely death, failure and bondage. Psalm 106:19-21, exodus 20:2-5. Many people seek the help of religious idols to deliver them from the perceived destructive powers of the pagan (family) idols. This cannot happen, all idols are the same, they have only one commander-in-chief who is Satan, also known as Lucifer or the devil. Matthew 12:24-28 says: "But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “It is only by Beelzebub, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons.”Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? And if I drive out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you."

10. God hates idolatry with perfect hatred. It is a spiritual adultery. It brings the anger of God on the people involved. Idolatry brings curses upon the people and the land. Exodus 20:5. “thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: For I the lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me.” It provokes God to jealousy. It ignites God’s anger, It defiles and pollutes people and the land. Idol in the family affects everyone from that family. Idol worship is a sin that brings reproach upon the people from one generation to another until they are delivered.

11. Idol worship is a legal ground for satanic control. After you are born again one should undergo thorough deliverance and do away with anything that is connected with idols. Patronizing native doctors or occult temple or priests for charms, making inquiries, for favor or for success is idol worship. If you have been involved in these things in the past or you are still into such things, you need to stop, give your Life to Christ and go for deliverance.

12. Idol worship is a form of spiritual adultery that reduces men to the dust. Proverbs 6:26 KJV says: "For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life." The reason idols invade families, communities and nations is to seek out great destinies and destroy them before they can see the light of day, they are the powers behind powerful family witchcraft spirits that make sure nobody rises in the family, and they always kill the star in the family first. That is the power that drove the sons of Jacob to begin to seek the way they will eliminate their brother Joseph. If you kill the witch you can see without destroying the idol, a stronger witch than the one you have killed will rise up in no time in the same family.

13. Idol worship is the worship of demons and Satan. Local idols are known to be violent and thoroughly fierce. They demand what they want from people and they get it at all cost including inflicting sorrow and affliction on their subjects. Through idol worship one gets into a covenant relationship knowingly or unknowingly with demons and powers of darkness. These powers in turn dictates the outcome of the lives of those who are involved. Idols are the powers involved in spiritual marriage, spirit husbands and spirit wives, anything they can do to commit you in the spirit realm so they can gain access and invade your life.

14. If you are into idol worship, you need to repent and turn over to the lord Jesus by becoming born again. Repent today and accept the lord Jesus as your lord and savior. Put away every of those idols and walk in faith in Christ Jesus. Embrace deliverance by the Holy Spirit of God, study the bible and fill your heart with the word of God and avoid any involvement or behaviour that can take you back into the bondage that you have already been delivered from.
